STATE ELECTION COMMISSION NOTIFIES BY-ELECTION TO PHUNCHAWNG LOCAL COUNCIL
#ZONEWS Aizawl August 28, 2025 : The State Election Commission, Mizoram today notified The Schedule of By-Election to XI/6-Phunchawng Local Council, 2025 within Aizawl Municipality as below.
The Schedule of By-Election is as follows:
| 1 | Announcement & Issue of notification of Election by the State Election Commission | 28.08.2025 (Thursday) |
| 2 | Date of Issue of Notice of Election by the Returning Officers | 28.08.2025 (Thursday) |
| 3 | Last Date for filing Nominations | 08.09.2025 (Monday)(till 3:00PM) |
| 4 | Scrutiny of Nominations | 09.09.2025 (Tuesday)(10:00 AM onwards) |
| 5 | Last Date for withdrawals of Candidature | 11.09.2025 (Thursday)(till 3:00 PM) |
| 6 | Date & Time for allotment of symbols to Candidates & Display of list of Candidates | 11.09.2025 (Thursday) (3:00pm onwards) |
| 7 | Date of Poll | 25.09.2025 (Thursday)(7:00 AM – 5:00 PM) |
| 8 | Counting of Votes (Counting of votes shall commence as soon as possible after the poll is over) | 25.09.2025 (Thursday) |
| 9 | Date of re-poll if any | 26.09.2025 (Friday)(7:00 Am – 5:00 PM) |

Model Code of Conduct for Political Parties, Candidates and Persons holding public offices is hereby enforced within XI/6-Phunchawng Local Council Constituency with immediate effect till announcement of result of the said By-Election.
